3 questions to Zoé, Student of Transdisciplinary Early Intervention:

What is this offer about?

»The Parent-Child-Group is a once a week offer of the German Red Cross for all refugee mothers, fathers and their children from zero to three years, who live in the following accommodation at Röhricht of the German Red Cross. In this group, the mothers have the opportunity to talk with us about their children, ask questions and get support. We also playfully encourage children's development and mother-child bonding. At the same time, we try to help the mothers learn the German language.«

What does this have to do with your studies?

»In the study of Transdisciplinary Early Intervention I learn to nurture toddlers and to advise, support and guide their families to self-help. I also learned how important a good bond between mother and child is. As the parent-child-group is concerned with these things, it enables me to gain practical experience during my studies and implement what I have learned.«

What do you like best about this work?

»I particularly like the contact with the mothers, fathers and children because it is a good change from the theory in the university and I have the opportunity to gain first practical experience. I also think that the Parent-Child-Group is a great and helpful project for the refugee families and I really enjoy supporting this project and seeing it well received.«
